"Higson based much of his character on Fleming’s only description of Bond’s childhood, an obituary written for The Times by M in You Only Live Twice.

M notes that Bond lost his parents in a climbing accident when he was 11, and his aunt sent him to Eton. “It must be admitted that his career at Eton was brief and undistinguished and, after only two halves, as a result, it pains me to record, of some alleged trouble with one of the boys’ maids, his aunt was requested to remove him.”

Assistant Atlas shows how confusing the world of Bond is today. The simultaneous launch of Younger Bond in Casino Royale and Young Bond in Silverfin is causing a lot of the problems.

Obviously, we love it really.  If it was all totally clear we'd have nothing to talk about...

New YB Needed Already

Movieblog reports that Bloom has heard nothing about the YB rumours.

I'm not doing young James Bond!" said the curly one. "My manager, my agent have never mentioned it to me - not to date. Young or old, it has never been mentioned to me." And just to reiterate, "I don't know where that came from, but I've never heard a whiff of it...

Surely, he would have been too old anyway?

Who is Young Bond ?

Is it me or are people getting confused about YB's place in the OB world?  Casino Royale is an early Fleming novel in which OB is going to appear as a younger bond.  This is the part Bloom is set to play (I think).  All of which has nothing to do with casting for the film version of Silverfin.  Or has it?  Even Bourne Director Paul Greengrass seems confused judging by this rather good interview with him at The Leodian.
