Blood Fever sees young James Bond traveling
to Sardinia during his school break where he becomes embroiled in a
plot involving art theft, smuggling, pirates, and a secret criminal
society known as "MM' (Higson's original working title for the novel
was 'Double M'). In Blood Fever James will
learn to snorkel and skin dive, and will endure what author Higson
calls "a nasty torture scene" (!). The climax will be set inside a cave
where the main villain has his lair among the remains of a Neolithic
village.
